Leave The Car and Take it to The Summer Streets in NYC

Summer Streets in NYC
Get Family Friendly in Manhattan with Summer Streets this August

Celebrate New York City’s vibrant streets and what they mean for pedestrians, tourists, and small businesses at Summer Streets in NYC.  During New York City Summer Streets, seven miles are closed to vehicle traffic for three consecutive Saturdays in August. This opens it up for walkers, bikers, skaters, and fun-seekers. All along the route, you’ll find “Rest Stops” that are full of fun activities. Best of all, everything is free.

The route starts at Lafayette and Chamber Streets by the Brooklyn Bridge, travels up Lafayette Street and Park Avenue to 72nd Street and ends at East 72nd Street and Central Park.

Uptown to Midtown
At the Uptown Rest Stop, try the zip line, take a walking tour of beautiful buildings, and check out musical performances. At Midtown, you’ll find a kids’ bike zone, hand cycling demonstrations, and A Taste of Summer sampling zone.

Astor Place to Soho
Astor Place Rest Stop will feature a dog park and art installations. At the Soho Rest Stop, try a fitness class or get your bike repaired.

The Finale at Foley Square
Finally, at the Foley Square Rest Stop, you’ll find a gigantic, 300-foot waterslide, obstacle courses, walking tours, and even more.

Along the way, you’ll also find misting stations, art, a rock climbing wall, and more.

When heading to the city to explore Summer Streets, you can leave your car safely in the hands of our Valet when you stay at The Manhattan Club!
