Enjoy the events for NYC Marathon Week as part of the full race experience for both spectators and runners.
The TCS New York City Marathon is an iconic event in the city and has grown to some impressive proportions over the years. As the race entrance is based on a lottery, not all who want to join in the event can, but there are a number of other things to do during the week that leads up to the big day that all can enjoy, racers and spectators alike.
Shake out your pre-race nerves with a 5-mile Kick-off run on Sunday, October 29th. The Poland Springs Kickoff takes participants on the roads through Central Park and ends at the Marathon finish line. If you aren’t running the full Marathon the following week, this is a great opportunity to get in on the fun of the NYC race experience.
If you are looking for a more subdued way to explore the race course, take advantage of the Motorcoach Tours of the Marathon Course. Tickets are available through the New York Road Runners website and the tours lasts about 4 hours from the Verrazano Bridge to the finish line in Central Park.
Carb- up pre-race at the Marathon Eve Dinner: It is open to all spectators and runners with tickets available for purchase at Nyrr.org.
The Marathon Expo takes place at the Javits Center. Here is where runners pick up their race bibs and can find samples and treats from local vendors and some great running gear for sale. Race eperts are also available to answer questions as well.
The countdown is on for the TCS Marathon taking place November 5th! We invite you to book your stay with us at The Manhattan Club if you’re going to be in the area to cheer on your favorite runner for the big day or for any of the events for NYC Marathon Week. We wish everyone participating in the race the very best of luck!
