The Best Concierge in New York Are More Than “Keeper of the Keys”!

It’s not just a fancy French word – discover the high standard of personalized customer service that can only come from the best concierge in New York!

Man club concierge
Our accommodations may be comfortably luxurious and amenities plentiful, but at the heart of The Manhattan Club is a dedicated team of genuine staff members. From the hardworking housekeepers to the warm and welcoming reception staff, every member is held to the highest standard of service. Yet to truly make unique and personal Manhattan memories, there are no more important members of our team than the best concierge in New York!

What is a “concierge”?
The direct translation from the French language – “keeper of the keys” – no longer applies to these vanguards of service. In the Middle Ages, a concierge kept the keys at the royal residences and ensured that visiting guests had everything they required. Today, our concierge staff exceeds this Old World designation with the highest standard of personalized care. In a City That Never Sleeps, this can take on many forms throughout the day, but the focus always remains on accommodating our guests every request for the betterment of their Manhattan Club experience.

Tips from The Best Concierge Staff in NYC!
Our team is available daily to help wherever needed, and to make sure your visit with us is a truly memorable experience. From making reservations to nearby restaurants, arranging transportation services, or even helping you secure tickets to events in the area, no request is too implausible. Yet here are some tips on how to get the most out of their amazing services.

  • Only car services can be booked in advance. While they can give you tips and maybe even physically assist, by law, cabs can only be hailed from the street.
  • The busiest restaurant times vary depending on the area of the city. 7:00pm-9:00pm is standard “prime time”. For the Theatre District, this is pushed earlier (5:00pm-7:00pm) and Downtown tends to be later (8:00pm-10:00pm) to cater to the vibrant nightlife.
  • The more time you give them to work their magic, the better. Requests can be made even prior to your arrival by contacting them at concierges@tmcny.com.

We look forward to serving you soon!

Your Personal Winter in NYC Bucket List!

It may be colder and the days may be shorter, but there is so much to experience this winter in NYC!

Nyc central park winter

Even though the weather is colder, there’s so much to explore and do during the winter in NYC. We've put together a short “bucket list” of our can’t-miss activities for you...

  • Visit Rockefeller Center
No matter if you’re in town when its famed tree is still standing, or find yourself visiting when the New Year has already begun, there’s much to do in and around this NYC institution. Of course, you can take a twirl on its famed ice rink. Or, head to the Top of the Rock and get an awe-inspiring view of the entire skyline. But be sure to also check out some of the unique shopping locations such as the recently reopened FAO Schwarz, the American Girl Place, or the Lego Store.
  • See a New York Ballet Performance at Lincoln Center
George Balanchine's The Nutcracker may be the be-all and end-all “list-worthy” entry, but this famed company always makes every trip to Lincoln Center worthwhile. Of note – Tchaikovsky will be returning when “The Sleeping Beauty” hits the stage in February.
  • Catch a New York Rangers Game
Madison Square Garden may also be the home of the Knicks, but this year, the New York Rangers are making a run for Lord Stanley’s Cup. If you don’t want to partake in skating yourself, cheer on some of the NHL’s best while they do!

  • Tour the New York Botanical Garden
It may seem like a “warmer weather” destination, but the Botanical Garden enchants visitors all-year-round. The centerpiece of their winter events, the annual Holiday Train Show, showcases all of the famed NYC landmarks, constructed completely out of natural material from their garden.

If you want to make the most out of your winter in New York City, check out our special offers and book your suite with The Manhattan Club!

Four Places That Should Be On Everyone’s List of Holiday Shopping in NYC Destinations!

A returning favorite joins a list of traditional and contemporary destinations to ensure you make the most out of your holiday shopping in NYC!

The magical feeling of the holiday season is on full display throughout the streets of New York City, making our beloved metropolis a top destination for gift shopping. From the standard department stores to the ever-present holiday markets in NYC, The Manhattan Club has compiled a list of four can’t-miss spots to enjoy the sights and sounds of the season while checking off the names on your list!

Bryant Park Holiday Market
We’ve already spotlighted this homage to the traditional European open-air markets of yore, yet The Holiday Shops at Bryant Park should be on every shopper’s list of can’t-miss gift giving destinations. Over 100 vendors line aisles of festive outdoor stalls and offer a wide variety of gifts from artisan crafts to designer goods and delicious homemade treats.

Macy’s
A true landmark of our city and known for its festive spirit worldwide (from the spectacular Thanksgiving Day Parade to the film “Miracle on 34th Street”), this retail giant still brings the holiday cheer. Taking up an entire city block, this destination is also famous for its beautifully festive window displays.

Dylan’s Candy Bar
Kids and those young-at-heart won’t want to miss this three-story shop of all things candy. A great place to fill up those stockings, you’ll find sugary delights from every era!

FAO Schwarz
“Return to Wonder” as this NYC landmark returns home after closing its doors in 2015. In a new location at 30 Rock, all of your favorite, larger-than-life, features (such as that giant piano) will return to this Wonderful World of Toys (opening November 16th).

Shopping at any time in The City That Never Sleeps is a fun-filled yet hectic activity. For the holiday season, ensure you have a place to wind down and relax after all of the action when you book a suite with us at The Manhattan Club.

5 Reasons to Visit the Farmers Markets in NYC!

Taking A Trip to a Farmers Market in NYC is the perfect Empire State Fall Activity!

Peaches crate fruit farmers market
There are many iconic fall activities that spring to mind when you think of visiting New York City. You can take in the fall foliage at Central Park, or come and see an annual tradition such as the Thanksgiving Day Parade, yet one of our most favorite things to do may surprise you – visiting a local farmers market.

Our urban jungle is actually filled with many amazing markets, strewn beautifully throughout every borough and open all-year-round. Here's our top five reasons why we think you should
visit a farmers market in NYC this fall:

Eat clean and green

The produce that you’ll buy will be the freshest around. Straight from the farm and seasonally inspired, you’ll discover an ever-changing regional bounty of crops. At the world-famous Union Square Greenmarket, you’ll browse wares from 140 local farmers, fishermen, and bakers. It’s considered by many to be the quintessential Empire State market experience. You don't want to miss it.

Know your farmer

It makes the world of difference when you know where your food comes from. If you wish to discover where your fresh food grows, the internationally-known Eagle Street Rooftop Farm in Brooklyn is for you. Set atop a three-story warehouse, this world-wide acclaimed, organic vegetable patch will give you an entirely new perspective on food and farming.

Learn cooking tips and recipes

Cooking demonstrations and recipe exchanges, like the ones regularly held at the Tribeca Saturday Greenmarket, make you curious to try new flavors and teach you how to use your fresh produce in new and inventive ways.

Kid-friendly, parent-approved

Farmers markets are for all ages, with many, such as the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket, hosting a variety of weekly family-friendly activities.

Connect with the community

The 79th Street Greenmarket, one of the closest to The Manhattan Club, is a true hub for everyone in the community. Friendly faces and a warm welcome bring us a slice of rural, small-town values smack dab in the center of the Big Apple!

Whether you choose to explore all five, or spend a few hours wandering around just one of these fabulous outdoor farmers markets, we know that you'll have fun and discover a completely different side of New York City in the fall.
